ive received my call sign and im anxious to get started on a home-brew antenna. which between a 3 element yagi and a 4 element quad would be more suitable for 2 meter transmissions to NA1SS? due to a lack of funds, the same antenna will be used for surface transmissions as well.

Welcome to the forum.

I posted a longer reply to question under your other post on the same subject elsewhere on the forum, but to just add a quick comment here I would say go for the four element quad without a doubt. Quads always give the best returns for size (and effort).
