  • HAM RADIO CALL - KN3ROJ--K3ROJ

  • QTH - Essex, MD

This club was started in 1946 near the Martins Aircraft Plant in Middle River, Maryland, the AERO Amateur Radio Club. There is usually about 20 members who meet 2 times a month at a local small restaurant/coffee shop where we are allowed to use the rear room sometimes shared with regular customers. You may have worked the call sign, "W3PGA" during Field Day each year or the club's seconday call "AE3RO" which is used for the GOTA (Get on the Air) station. The club also enjoys operating the ARRL VHF/UHF contests, especially in the warmer months. The club also has qualified volunteer examiners and has testing every 2 months. If you are in the Maryland area just east of Baltimore, give W3PGA a call using the club's VHF repeater on 147.24 MHz or on 449.575 MHz.

Hey Al :D

I've just been taking a look around the AERO Amateur Radio Club website you listed. What a great site!

My favourite section: The Members Photos 10/10 from me!

I enjoyed the shot of your shack from 1967 (I was still a wee boy back then hi hi).

Thanks for a great link! :D
